A hunger for blood from the beast of creativity. That is how I describe my drive
when creating art. When creating, my hands allow me to create the window between the viewer and me. Ive grown and survived my journey as an artist by my constant desire to communicate with the world. I know Ive won when I evoke any kind of emotion from my viewers whether it is anger or joy. Therefore, art allows me to see into the mind of the viewer.
The concepts I choose to place in my pieces are subject matters that happen in our everyday life, especially the unsaid. I am also very attracted to the overall theme of choice. Choice is a universal concept that everyone on this planet is affected by. For example, choosing between your passion or love, or the choice between your sanity and someone elses comfort. These are some of the choices we make which define who we are and reflect our morality. My art deeds on and lives for that one point at which the viewer is awestruck.
Ever since I was young, my art reflected who I was on the inside. I was very anti-social but inside my mind was another world. As if the world was my art piece and I was the critic. At this time in my life I dealt more with the inner me than how my thoughts of others.
When I was younger and even now I dont have a definite process. I critique aspects of society or myself that I want to explore and I let my mind go wild until I find that one voice in my head screaming at the top of its lungs Im a great and definitely complex idea! This voice would be my inspiration talking to me; an offspring from that one idea. This is one thing that many artist fail to understand we are all critics, whether we are creating pieces about others or ourselves.
For the future, I want my art to be in the mind of everyone by hopefully displaying in galleries and museums. The viewers will talk about it all the time. Not for fame or money, but for simple fact that I want to make people think differently. Once Ive done this I have succeeded as an artist.
